Welcome to the Community Development and Child Welfare Initiatives (CODI)!

We are an indigenous non-governmental organization based in Wobulenzi, Luweero District in Uganda. Our vision is to have a society that is prosperous, empowered and free from marginalization.

CODI was formed to help rebuild communities in the Luweero region that were devastated by war in the 1980s. Since 1996, we have implemented projects focused on food security, healthcare, education, sustainable agriculture, women and youth empowerment, governance, and protecting the rights of marginalized groups.

Our purpose is to work for the reduction of vulnerability among marginalized groups and promote citizen participation. We aim to strengthen governance, reduce poverty, and improve livelihoods of people in the communities we serve.
